Lip Wrinkles:

Lip wrinkles are those lines (that can go from fine lines to deep wrinkles or furrows) that appear around the mouth, they are caused mostly due to aging process in which the skin looses its elasticity (collagen) and what once were lines that appeared and dissappeared with our gestures become permanent marks.

Muscle movement around the mouth, when we smile or frown, is a continous movement that also causes lip wrinkles to appear.

Even though it is a normal part of the aging process, lip wrinkles can be made worse due to several factors like smoking or living in a smoke filled environment, sun light which depletes the epidermis or top layer of the skin of water that is vital to the elasticity, so to prevent the appearance of lip wrinkles you should refrend yourself from smoking or living in a constant smoke filled environment as well as using sunblock and moisturizers so the skin around the lips stays hydrated and elastic for a longer time.

You should start treating lip wrinkles as they form, by applying antiaging creams and lotions, that also help the skin look younger and fresher, even though over the counter creams can only take you so far and will not stop the aging process completely.

Some of this antiaging creams and lotions contain anti oxidants and other ingredients like:

• Retinoids
• Vitamins (specially vitamin C and E that are good for the skin)
• Alpha Hydroxy Acids
• Polypeptides
• Plant Extracts

If you want to take more drastic measures to erase and eliminate your lip wrinkles, you can try some dermatological or surgery treatments, like peelings (chemical or mechanical) microdermabrasion, laser treatments and plastic surgery (Facelift) or lip wrinkles botox injections.
